A High School Project by Billie Lee of Johnston County raises $2000 for the horses!
Billie Lee, a student at South Johnston High School, chose USERL and the plight of neglected/abused horses for her Senior Project.  For a year, she organized a Fun Show on November 21, 2009 and successfully raised $2,000 for the horses!

Billie came out to one of the Triangle Quarantine/Rehabilitation Foster Farms on December 6, 2009 to present her check to the Triangle Regional Director and meet some of the horses whose life she's helped with her project.   She is pictured with Sam (to the left) and Elliott (behind them) - two recent rescues surrendered to Johnston County Animal Services.  Johnston County asked USERL to take Sam and Elliott into the program due to their severe malnutrition and needed medical care.

Sam and Elliott are recovering well now and, thanks to Billie and her successful project - others like them can find refuge and care for a better life!

From the Triangle Region - Thank you, Billie and great job!
