April 2, 2008:
Four additional horses have been sheltered from the same group the mare and foal came from (see here).  They are thin and one is receiving medical care for wounds and severe diarrhea.  They are currently in quarantine at Central Coast and Southeast Region foster farms.  Donations are needed as this group of 6 horses have high expenses due to medical and nutritional needs.  You can donate online at www.userlstore.org or contact info@userl.org for questions.
This mare, now named "Colors of Hope", has an severe open/infected wound on her neck.  She is also suffering from severe diarrhea.  She is receiving treatment and we will update with her condition.
