NC - Triangle Region
July 14, 2011:
Meet "Nizzy", the newest member of the USERL - NC Triangle Horse program. Her owner sadly fell on hard financial times and was relocating out of state after her home going into foreclosure, etc. There were 5 horses total, with 3 finding homes thanks to a wonderful USERL volunteer giving her time to help the owner find them homes. Nizzy was one of two left that hadn't found a home yet. And with being underweight, less likely to find a home soon.
Nizzy is 22 years old and very well trained. Appears sound. She will be scheduled for a dental float and has been started on a weight gain program.

There is a cute 4 year old gelding, Arab/Welsh pony, that needs a home! He's in fair weight and has very little handling, but is a sweet boy. If anyone is interested in a project pony, please contact info@userltriangle.org. He is not in our program as his costs of care were much lower and makes it easier to find him a private home.

Nizzy is doing well and gaining weight slowly. She's had her teeth floated and hooves trimmed. Nizzy will be moved to another foster facility temporarily so that repairs to the current foster rehab farm, from Hurricane Irene, can be done. She will be returning next month to finish rehab and to evaluate for her future adoption. Nizzy is a doll - very well behaved girl that will likely be suited for an intermediate rider. More to come in October, so check with us!
