Thank You Johnston County!
Johnston County Animal Services had it's annual Open House this past Saturday.  USERL was invited to set up a booth and bring horses rescued from Johnston County to bring awareness to the issue of equine neglect.  It was a wonderful success and a well-organized event with many different vendors for animals!  If you missed it this year, be sure to make it next year.  You can bring your dogs to the event (on leashes, of course) to shop with you, or get vaccinated for rabies, microchipped, and a bath all in one place!
USERL volunteers transported Bella and Izzy to the event to meet & greet everyone.  They did wonderful as ambassadors for USERL and Johnston County Animal Services.

Izzy did wonderfully!  She's pictured here at the Open House with a young USERL volunteer that adores her.  Izzy is still in rehab, but was far enough along to join Bella, her buddy, on this trip.  Both were transported from this event to their new foster home to continue their journey finding a new life - Bella awaiting a new adoptive home, and Izzy to continue her rehab.
A big thank you to Johnston County Animal Service's staff for their invite and a well-turned out event!
