Horses needing fosters:
These Triangle horses below need a foster home.  They are either in rehabilitation and/or court litigation, or available for adoption and needing a home while waiting for the right person/family.  Also look on the Triangle Horses for Adoption page, as some of them need a foster until they are adopted.

Many of the horses needing foster homes are not pictured here (court litigation may prohibit their photos).  So if you have the room, time and finances to help a horse in need - contact us!!

USERL foster homes must be able to provide feed and hay (many also do farrier, too) expenses while USERL provides veterinary care (optional).
Foster's expenses are tax-deductible!

Miko:
Miko had very little handling until he came to the League.  He has since become a very sweet boy.  He does need continued work with picking his rear feet up and learning to tie.  He has been starting in the round pen with free lounging with an eye to getting a saddle on his back.  He gets along well in a pasture situation and is very easy to catch.  He is in need of a new foster who could hopefully continue work ing with him.

Read his adoption and bio information here.
Tater:
Tater is from the same case as Miko, and all these siblings resemble each other in temperment and looks.  He is around 2 yrs. old and 13.1 HH.  Tater picks up his hooves for farrier work and stands for grooming.  He needs a foster home that can continue his ground training.

Snickers:
Snickers is also from the same case as Miko and Tater, and the colt from Nina.  All these siblings resemble each other in temperment and looks.  He is 6 months old and picks up his hooves for farrier work and stands for grooming.  He needs a foster home that can continue his ground training.  He will grow taller than his siblings since he was born healthy and has received good nutrition (est. 14 - 14.2 HH at maturity).

Nina:
Nina is the mom to Snickers and also from the Surry County group.  She is 11 years old and 14.3 HH.  Nina came in feral and has made absolutely stunning strides in her training.  She is easy to catch, halters, leads nicely.  She does still have issues with having her hooves trimmed and will need continued training.  She is on a wait list for the trainer, but needs a foster to continue with her ground training (hooves, tying) until a training spot is open.  She is easy to train and work with, an absolute doll!

Rocky:
Rocky is a 4 year old Quarter Horse type gelding.  He's come along way in his health since coming to us from a Cumberland County cruelty case!  He is currently still in rehab due to a tooth root abscess that began in July.  Radiographs could not determine which tooth was causing the issue, so he is due to be re-radiographed soon to hopefully determine which tooth needs removal.  Until then, Rocky needs a new foster that can give him the attention he craves!  The tooth abscess does not cause him any discomfort as he's eating great (and he's an easy keeper).  But he will need to stay somewhat close to Wendell, NC (our veterinarian's clinic) so that the surgery and any treatment can be continued.  Once this is resolved, Rocky will be available for adoption.

Newberry:
Newberry is a 7 yr old bay Arabian cross gelding. He is currently in court litigation and simply needs a foster home until custody and adoption. He is not difficult to handle but he is young, playful, very curious and friendly. He would flourish with someone who has experience with natural horsemanship.
Training under saddle is unknown and he cannot be evaluated/ridden until litigation is completed.

Ferrari:
Ferrari is a 1/1/2 year old Quarterhorse type colt.  He is currently in court litigation so he has not been castrated yet.  Ferrari needs a foster home to care for him until court litigation is completed.  He can then be castrated and put up for adoption.
Ferrari is sweet and gets along easily with geldings.  He halters, leads and lifts hooves for farrier.

Geanna:
Geanna is a 7 year old Quarterhorse type mare.  She is in need of a foster home until her turn at a trainer.  Geanna is happiest with other horses and doesn't like to be separated from them, so she will need a pasture mate at her foster home.  She is an easy keeper, halters, leads and picks up her hooves for farrier.
