May 22, 2008:

June 4, 2008:
Wrangler is settling in good and has now remembered he's a stallion. But he is a well-mannered stallion thus far and has done very well turned out with a group of geldings after his quarantine was over. He's having problems with the heat this week because of a temporary inability to sweat due to his malnutrition. So his turnout will have to be during the night only, with days spent in the barn with a fan.
Wrangler is eating well and thoroughly enjoys his food!

"Wrangler" is doing well, especially with the relief from the oppressive heat. He continues to do well and will be castrated when his weight is up enough to do so safely.
"Wrangler" and "Little Joe" share their hay during turnout.

Wrangler is still improving and beginning to glow with new health. He is now at a reasonable weight to be castrated, which will be done in the next few weeks. Aside from typical stallion behavior when around a mare (or a gelding he suspects "might" be a mare), his manners are great and his nature is very personable.
Wrangler, left, is a sweet, personable horse with a sense of humor.
Wrangler, above, enjoys his 24 hr buffet of forage.
